“It takes a whole village to raise a child”
Our friendships and how that bond will be part of our children’s growth
Daniela and Mark had no ideia what was about to happen when they first came to my studio. They were brought by Filipa, who decided to offer them a special day to celebrate their baby to come.
Friends turn our lives easier, colourful and full. We live to bond, and friends reminds us that. As Helen Keller said: “I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light.” Keep reading and give your friends a call today!

Filipa and Daniela are friends and co-workers on a very special place . They are actresses on an experimental theatre with interactive plays ( I hope I’m describing it well).
The session was great. Good friends laughing and talking, and I was in the middle, trying to capture their relationship. (what a blessed job I have)
I would say, that approximately 1/3 of my work are gifts to offer to friends. That always moves me. I know that friendship is a bond to be cherished, and, as important to me that is to capture a parent’s love, is to be able to paint the friendship that will also be part of that baby’s life.
I like to be surrounded by friends. In my family, there’s not a weekend we don´t get together with friends. My sons are raised by me and my husband, their grandparents, their uncle and our friends. I want them to feel supported, and sharished by them and understand our place in the world as being part of a community . We can´t love alone, and we are here to love and connect.
I’ll do my best to continue painting that invisible bond, that sometimes we don´t remember but that will always be there.
