Newborn baby – A time of coherent contradiction
Bright colors on a soft pallet – the intensity of a newborn mother
Barbara, the author of mammateenblog ,once a newborn mum, is a mother of three, but the portrait was not about any kid in particular but about her motherhood in general.
I tried to represent all the love, tenderness and connection between a mum and her newborn baby. The colors are soft and pastel but we can’t ignore the bright yellow tones that exist during this time. Everything looks intense, doesn´t it? How was it for you?

It’s quite a strange time of opposites ( it was for me). We are as happy as we can be, yet, more freighted then ever. We glow, yet, our eyes have the bigger dark circles ever. We want everybody to know the cutest baby we have ever seen, yet, we don´t want anyone around us.
Time seems to pass slowly and fast at the same time (what about that Einstein?).
I would say that the first 4 weeks of my sons were the hardest of my like, yet the most intense and overwhelming. After that first month things slowly get back to its usualness. I’m not going to lie… it’s slowly… really slowly … and probably , when your kids turn 20 , your life restaures it’s natural flow! (that’s what I’ve heard)! In the meantime don´t forget to enjoy every little detail. It’s hard, but it’s unique, and it truly makes our life so much more interesting.
When it comes to maternity it’s all very contradictory ( and coherent) !
