father’s day, is it today?

Memorable father’s day gift

Father’s day around the world. Is it in March? Is it in June?

Father’s day is just as excuse to look into our dad’s eyes and thank him. I’ll start  – Thank you dad for teaching me how to paint ( my dad is a painter and a violinist.. my family is quite gifted when it comes to Arts… bad news for my mum who just wants someone in the family with a normal job, like a lawyer or an engineer, but can´t seem to find it.. sorry mum ).

This painting was done for Kimberly, in the States. In Portugal we celebrate father’s day in March, but as I work mainly for the US, May is the month for father’s day.

Keep reading to know a bit more about Kimberly and her men and to see the painting I’ve done of them!

Kimberly contacted me because she had no pictures of her husband with both their kids. Joe is living away from his family as he is taking care of his very sick mum.

Kimberly wrote a very touching description of her family and their love was sensed as very strong. I made all my efforts to capture this love and essence and Kimberly was very fan of the result ( which made me very proud). I’ve paint kind of a puzzle for Gage ( the squares in the background) , a very wide opened smile for Samuel and for Joe, besides the entire painting holding his kids, a blinq of an eye with a Batman t-shirt.

Anyway, I’ve decided to write this post in July to remember that when it comes to thank our dad we don´te have to wait for a special day… I’m sure, somewhere in the world , for someone, today is a father’s day, and so : HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

P.S. – I really can’t ignore this, so I’m just gonna say it: We are the CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!!!! ( EURO 2016) weeeeeeee!!!! ( Sooo happy!)
