Mini-mi Fashion week – Fashion meets watercolor

Mini-mi fashion week – The children’s fashion event in Lisbon

Bellysketcher will be there and everyone is going to mess with paint! ( it’s going to be so awesome!).

Mini-mi fashion week will be the first on it’s kind on the Portuguese capital. It’s promoted by Andrea Schaefer and her blog with the same name and I’m expecting lots of fun and beautiful clothes.

I was invited by Andrea to provide some of my maternity watercolor paintings to be exhibited on the walls. The event will take place in LX Factory ( a huge industrial space) and some color will definitely light up the room. However, because I can never stand still, I had the idea of making a workshop in addiction to the exhibition. I always come up with strange ideas to get me out of my comfort zone ( that’s a very good thing, don´t you agree?). It’s perfect for me to grow and be part of beautiful things, but it’s never easy. If it wasn´t for that craziness I would still be behind a computer, designing houses I would never see build, unhappy and sad. Fortunately for me I don´t accommodate and I’m here telling you these good news ;).

Mini-mi Fashion Week

The workshop is for families with children over 4. Everyone ( parents and children) will be part of a great and big ( very big) Art Piece. We are all working together with paint, collages, ink, crayons, brushes, feet and hands.

The result, I expect to be magnificent and I can´t wait to be part of it.

Art communicates, that is why I love to make collaborative pieces and this one will be with so many people, mostly small artists (that are always such an inspiration).

For those not around during the event ( I mean, not in Lisboa). Who knows… maybe I can do it on your home city any time soon and start a new project ( I’m bold enough for that… I know me..). Anyway I’ll show the result here. I’m sure you will like it!

In the meantime, stay around. I’ll be here with lots to show you.

grandparents maternity portraits

grandparents are parents with sugar.

Watercolor maternity paintings about grandparents are one of my favourites.

granna's portrait

Grandmothers ( and grandfathers) are parents with sugar. Grannys always know songs we have never heard before, crazy stories that we can´t read on any book and beautiful lies to color our world ( my grand dad A. was very short, 1,56m. He used to say that he was born very tall, 3 m high, back in Mars- yes, the planet Mars- but when he moved to Earth, in order to bled in, he cut 2 big pieces of him, but he made a mistake, and cut too much). My granny was the opposite, she was very worried with my great indifference to divide fractions. She used to spend entire afternoons trying to teach me those, and I still can’t do it. Grandparents always have a sweet hidden somewhere, always have the time and they never care about the weather.

My and my grand dad used to go for long walks, talking, telling stories, asking, looking, admiring and thinking. My grand dad taught me to never stop asking, never stop dreaming. I miss him very much!

My children are very lucky to have their 4 grandparents living only 10 min from here. They have a special bond with all and they share a world that I’m not allowed to enter. I know that one of the most special thinks of childhood is the relationship with grandparents.

Granny Jorgina was a women ahead of her time, as Clara describe. A Fan of music and Art. Clara wants to place her in a special place in a small wall, in her small home in Oslo, Norway so that her children can remember that grandamothers and great-grandmothers are two times mums. A maternity watercolor remembering that grannys are mum’s with sugar!

Spring is the time to restart blogging ( and a freebie)

Bellysketcher -Freebie - bee

Bellysketcher- freebie - free bee

I’m so happy to welcome you all to my brand-(redirected from blogger)-new blog!

Tolstoi said that “Spring is the time of plans and projects”. And this sunny day inspires me to continue painting Bellysketcher’s maternity portraits.

I’ll do my best to show my work and plans around here. It’s not always easy, between pregnancy watercolors and baby portraits , and my own family, to find the time to say hello, but I’m determined to communicate with you by writing as I usually do with my family portraits.

And to celebrate the beginning of Spring and the future of our children I’m honoured to offer you this watercolor. You can download it, print it and use it the way you prefer. I’m sure it will look great on your kid’s room or even on the fridge door.

It’s a reminder of the future. It’s a Freebie – Free-bee to remembering us to take care of our world, if not for us, for our children. Honor the flowers, the plants, the bees (that are missed in some parts of our earth) and all thinks living.

I also would like to invite you to come over often. I promise a lot more of these. I’m already preparing a beautiful freebie watercolor task table for your little ones. It’s perfect for children to feel useful and confident.

In the meanwhile, subscribe 😉 and stay tuned!

See you soon!

We want to hear from you.
